The So-Called Career

I've just received the Panasonic HA Air-Cond R & D Malaysia Sdn Bhd Business Card. It says there " Ahmad Faisal Bin Mohamad Ayob, Engineer, Engineering Department". Some people says that, "someday I might laugh at this". But I laugh just after the moment I received the business card.

The so-called career...This might not be long...

I strongly believe that having own-run business is the best thing to do rather than working for people. I believe in "incentives", the more you work, the more you get. I love working for Panasonic, because I trade my time for financial, and I also have incentives for working until late. But the setback that comes with this is, I lost my time for my favourite stuff. Like being socialize, getting to places, and having nice time with my family, my friends and my love ones.

The other thing is, I have the urge of motivating people around me. I like to talk, giving steps to success to the needy. The career that suits me the most is lecturing, doing research and personal coaching. As far as I am concern, people must do the thing that they like the most to succeed.

Apart from this business card, I just got the letter from University Malaysia Terengganu that says that I am accepted to be considered as a Research Fellow of UMT. I applied for the TPM (Tenaga Pengajar Muda) Scheme last end of May 2007.

I called the Chief Registrar to inform them that I have succeeded to change my PhD research topic, rather than having "Multidisciplinary Design Optimization of Race Car", it goes to the "Design of Ship Vessel". Actually I love that race car stuff. But then when I think of the contribution that I have to make to UMT, it is my obligation to pursue this design of ship vessel. And yes, UMT Chief Registrar said that I have to wait for the Offer Letter, might be as soon as this July 2007.

Since having Doctorate will give me the privilege to use my time more efficiently, I am also thinking of preparing myself to contribute and motivate my future students of UMT. Although this might be a long long journey, I think the base must be prepared first. And the base is me. Dr Ahmad Faisal B Mohamad Ayob.
